It can be assumed that throughout this time, she made "deals" similar to those she made with the Ushers. Roderick’s widow, Juno (Ruth Codd), inherits everything and completely dissolves Fortunato.
The Fall of the House of Usher (1950 film)
Madeline revives from her catalepsy, exits her coffin and returns to her shocked husband. The overarching narrative of The Fall of the House of Usher loosely follows Poe's 1839 short story of the same name, with Roderick recounting his decades-spanning tale to Auggie inside his decrepit childhood home. She appears near the narrator, but never acknowledges his presence. She returns to her bedroom where Roderick claims she has died.
Whether the reader is trapped by the house or by its inhabitants is unclear. Poe uses the term house to describe both the physical structure and the family. On the one hand, the house itself appears to be actually sentient, just as Roderick claims. Its windows are described as “eye-like,” and its interior is compared to a living body. Roderick suspects that the house controls its inhabitants.
They are both mysteriously ill and he discovers that they are suffering from a curse caused by their father which will lead to them both dying shortly, resulting in the downfall and end of the ancient family of Usher. During a heated argument with Roderick, Madeline suddenly falls into catalepsy, a condition in which its sufferers appear dead. Roderick knows that she is still alive, but convinces Winthrop that she is dead and rushes to have her entombed in the family crypt beneath the house. As Philip is preparing to leave following the entombment, the butler, Bristol (Harry Ellerbe), lets slip that Madeline suffered from catalepsy. The narrator flees and sees the spot where the house was has been covered by water. The CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company faces his questionable past when his children start dying in mysterious and brutal ways.
Following her wishes after death the twins avoided taking their mother to the doctor or informing anyone of her death and took the matter into their own hands, burying her in the back garden. She later breaks free from her grave and Madeline and Roderick are seen following her as her mother runs to her former boss's house and kills him. Within a few hours of the narrator’s arrival, Roderick begins to share some of his theories about his family.
The result kills almost everyone at the party except for Morella. Verna appears at the end of the party, leaning in to kiss Perry as he dies. They'll get away with the murder, and will be able to gain monumental success from running the company of Fortunato, which Roderick was on the fast track to gaining with Griswold gone.

Roderick and Madeline’s trauma begins when their devout mother, Eliza (Annabeth Gish), dies at home, and the twins bury her in a homemade coffin in the backyard. Eliza claws her way out and exacts vengeance on William Longfellow (Robert Longstreet) — her married boss, CEO of Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, and Madeline and Roderick’s neglectful father. In exchange for this protection, both Roderick and Madeline had to consent to the bargain that at the end of Roderick's life, just before he was fated to die anyway, his entire bloodline would die with him. Roderick and Madeline would also have to die at the same time, leaving this world the same way they came into it. The siblings agreed to the deal, left the bar, and soon after became convinced that the whole thing had been a shared delusion. In November 2023, Roderick Usher, the CEO of pharmaceutical company Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, loses all six of his children within two weeks.
After she turns her back on him, we learn that she died by suicide. Inspired by the work of Edgar Allan Poe, House of Usher traces the downfall of the uber-wealthy Usher family and their corrupt drug company, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals. As the narrator reads of the knight's forcible entry into the dwelling, he and Roderick hear cracking and ripping sounds from somewhere in the house. When the dragon's death cries are described, a real shriek is heard, again within the house. As he relates the shield falling from off the wall, a hollow metallic reverberation can be heard throughout the house.

La Chute de la maison Usher is a 1928 silent French horror film directed by Jean Epstein starring Marguerite Gance, Jean Debucourt, and Charles Lamy.
